Roughing It Easy: A
Unique Ideabook for Camping and Cooking by Dian
Thomas
Creative, unique and straight-forward are
the words I would use to describe "Roughing It Easy: A
Unique Ideabook for Camping and Cooking" by Dian
Thomas.
From the very start of the book, you realize you are
going to get plenty of tips and tricks that are not of the
garden variety.
One
of the reasons I like Roughing It Easy is because it is a
departure from some of the more common survival camping
books I normally read.
In its place, this book focuses on practical ways of
going camping and cooking.
To get an example of what I am talking about, check out
an excerpt from the book at camping tips and
tricks.
In fact, the whole book is full of
ideas like this where everyday products are turned into useful
items in camping.
The
sections on cooking alone are worth the price of the book as
Dian sheds additional light in an often neglected area of
camping.
With a fine women’s touch, she describes what to look for
when selecting camping food, how to prepare it and keep it
fresh, and most importantly, how to cook
it.
With her simple and straight-forward directions, anyone
should be able to master a few basic recipes and upgrade their
cooking skills while
camping.
Also, she goes into detail about other
aspects of camping including unique ways to start fires and
tips for camping in the winter.
These tips help complete an excellent read on cooking and
unconventional ways to generate heat for
cooking.
If
you are interested in finding ways to improve your cooking
skills while camping, this should be a welcome addition to
your library. You can find a copy of the
book at www.campingwithdian.com

backpacker which was turned into a movie, check
